The scale and complexity of today's challenges require new approaches to leadership, strategy, and innovation. As leaders we are being asked to change not only what we do, but how we think, take in information, and navigate shifting paradigms.
This three-day intensive will increase your capacity to transform these pressures into learning and growth. You will gain practical skills needed to be more effective in the organizational and societal environments of today. Your guides will be internationally recognized and respected leaders working at the edge of emerging new fields.
For the past seven years the Shambhala Institute has become known for the transformative impact of its international programs based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. For the first time this program model has been adapted for a regional audience, with the aim of connecting and serving networks of forward-thinking leaders across sectors in Ontario.
We invite you to join us at this exciting frontier of learning, leadership, and exchange.
How it works
Customize your learning by selecting one of five skill-building modules. Your module meets for a total of 12 hours over three days.
Plenary sessions introduce key concepts and set the stage for dialogue across modules. These sessions will be led by Peter Senge, C. Otto Scharmer, and Michael Jones.
Morning sessions of mindfulness meditation set the tone for each day. Meditation is a rigorous exercise in recognizing habitual thinking and response, and clearing the way for fresh insight and authentic communication.
A mid-program creative process workshop engages the intelligence of the body and the senses, while freeing up creativity.
Networking lunches are a time for conversation, reflection, and making new connections.
To reinforce and sustain your learning back home, consider the coaching option.
Who else will be there
150 leaders and change agents from business, government, education, NGOs, and civil society. Here is a partial list of organizations that have been represented at previous Summer Institutes in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
